The new Pioneer Hotel & Gambling Hall in Laughlin, Nevada went on sale recently, with an asking price of $ 39 million. The only problem was that the 200,000 square foot property’s listing would never have been allowed for sale, and it was withdrawn.

The list of the three-story venue was presented on LoopNet.com earlier this week. The website features commercial properties
On Thursday, John Netzorg, a Las Vegas-based real estate attorney representing Pioneer owner Ray Koroghli, said the ad was “unauthorized” and was removed “on demand” of Koroghli, according to a report by Revue-Journal.
Friday, LoopNet continued to post a post regarding the Pioneer, “This hospitality property is no longer advertised on LoopNet.com.”
The Pioneer has several hundred rooms in its 42-year-old hotel. Facilities include a beach, swimming pool, restaurant and casino.
The property sits on 8.16 acres along the Colorado River. It’s a 12-minute drive from the property to the Laughlin / Bullhead International Airport in Bullhead City, Arizona, according to the listing. Koroghli bought the property in 2017, on Journal reported.
While most Nevada gaming properties are not for sale, a deal was announced in May for the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas. Station Casinos agreed to sell the off-Strip property to the San Manuel Mission Indian Band. The advertised price is $ 650 million.
Laughlin attracts retirees, motorhomes
Close to the new pioneer Laughlin are properties such as the Golden Nugget Laughlin Hotel & Casino and the Tropicana Laughlin.
Most of Laughlin’s gambling properties are located near the Colorado River. The city is approximately 97 miles southeast of Las Vegas.
It is known to be popular with retirees. But it attracts fewer visitors than more well-known destinations like Las Vegas or Reno. The Laughlin area also has many RV parks.
As in other parts of Nevada, the number of visitors to Laughlin has plummeted during the COVID-19 pandemic. But since the vaccines are available, the number of visitors and players increases, the Journal noted.
The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) reported that some 117,300 visitors came to Laughlin in May. In total, the city’s gambling properties also recorded $ 48.1 million in revenue in May.
This contrasts with 82,600 visitors and players in January, when gaming revenue was $ 33.5 million, the Journal noted.
Laughlin’s Violent Crimes
In December and January, Laughlin witnessed two violent crimes. In January, a man was assaulted and robbed outside the Colorado Belle Casino Resort. The victim and the other two men had left Edgewater Casino Resort together and were on their way to Colorado Belle before the robbery.
In December, a woman was hospitalized after being injured in a shooting at a Laughlin casino. The shooting took place in a hotel room at the Aquarius Casino Resort.
