THE manager of a popular restaurant in Weymouth has confirmed the business expects to trade for the next 12 months despite a building listing being published online.
An advert for 41 Abbotsbury Road, where Brazilian restaurant Sambo is located next to four flats, appeared on property website Right Move looking for offers above £600,000.
However, despite posting on the website, Sambo’s manager has dispelled rumors that the company may be moving or moving away.
He said: “As far as we are concerned, we will be negotiating for at least 12 months.
“We’re going to be here, we’re not going.”
Rumors had swirled online that the restaurant might relocate or leave town altogether, but the manager was keen to assure customers that was not currently on the cards.
Estate agent Savills’ online listing says owners of the building, formerly known as The Rock, are seeking offers in excess of £600,000 for the ‘attractive public house investment’ offering the rent restaurant passenger in addition to four fully rented apartments above.
The description states that the building is a large public house with three floors distributed over the ground, first and second floors.
The ground floor comprises the main shopping area with a central bar and open-plan seating, with men’s and women’s toilets. Next to a small kitchen and cellar trade.
While the first floor contains three rental apartments currently occupied by tenants, the living spaces include the bedrooms, kitchen, dining room and bathrooms.
And the second floor is another apartment with a bedroom, kitchen, dining area and bathroom.
